Welcome to C.T.E. Silchar
The second oldest Govt. college of Teachers’ Education (T.T. College) was established in the year 1960 and the first batch of B.T. candidates was appeared at the final exam under Gauhati University at Gauhati University centre.
In 1962, Gauhati University accorded affiliation and allowed a centre for B.T. exam at Silchar.The college was taken over the Govt. of Assam on the 1st April, 1983 and came under the jurisdiction of Assam University on 21st January, 1994.
